Facelift (Rhytidectomy)

Facelift (Rhytidectomy) surgery at Dr. Jamil Al Jamali Clinic

Facelift, or Rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure designed to enhance your appearance by tightening and lifting the skin and soft tissues on your face. Here at Jamil Cosmetic, we offer this transformative procedure to help you attain a smoother, youthful look.

What is a Facelift (Rhytidectomy)?

A Facelift (Rhytidectomy) is a surgical procedure aiming to reduce visible signs of aging by tightening and lifting the skin and soft tissues. The result is a more youthful, refreshed appearance. Facelifts can be customized, ranging from minimally invasive ‘mini’ lifts to more extensive surgery.

What happens during Facelift (Rhytidectomy) surgery?

During a facelift operation, which usually lasts two to three hours, your surgeon will use one of several techniques, such as SMAS facelift, MACS facelift, mid-facelift, or a mini facelift, depending on the area being lifted. These procedures generally involve making incisions, lifting, tightening the skin, and removing excess skin. The specifics will be decided during your consultation based on your needs and goals.

Going home after Facelift (Rhytidectomy) surgery

Post-operatively, you may experience swelling and bruising, and your face may feel tight around the ears. To manage swelling, it’s recommended to sleep upright for the first few days. Your stitches can usually be removed after 10 to 14 days. While you’ll begin to feel more like your normal self after about four weeks, the full effects of a facelift may not be visible for six to nine months.

Specific complications following Facelift (Rhytidectomy)

While complications are rare, they can include loss of skin or hair, blood collection under the skin, changes in skin color, damage to the facial nerve, and cosmetic problems. At Jamil Cosmetic, we prioritize your safety and satisfaction and are committed to providing comprehensive care before, during, and after surgery.
